"The feeling of inferiority rules the mental life and can be clearly recognized in the sense of incompleteness and unfulfillment, and in the uninterrupted struggle both of individuals and humanity."
~Alfred Adler~
Here is a short overview of the Law of Eternal Un-fulfillment & the better ways of dealing with it, presented in tarot-mode.
Facts of Universal Nature:
THE WORLD
The Law of Eternal Un-fulfillment is the graceful and rhythmical dance cycle of the cosmos—the inescapable boundaries of space/time constraints of a multidimensional Universe where energy emerges from the womb of the past and stands on the edge of an exciting leap into the unknown of infinite potential.
Basis of Human Nature:
HIGH PRIESTESS (reversed)
We have evolved habitually tending towards surface appearances; as a result, we are inclined to be out-of-touch with the deeper currents of Inner Wisdom.
Misguided-ness:
6 OF PENTACLES (reversed)
As a rule, we are not taught to focus on the undercurrents of life. Thus we often fail to see the intrinsic wisdom behind given situations. All is cyclical; therefore, all in-breaths must naturally be followed by out-breaths. Cycles, by their very nature, are meant to return in the opposite direction. When we don’t understand this, we cannot anticipate it, thus we feel short-changed and denied during the ‘in’ breath periods. We are left feeling dissatisfied with WHAT IS, and our discontent is advances into the darker areas of greed--we long for what is over and for more than what that moment has to offer or what we actually require to meet our needs.
Deeper Insight:
ACE OF WANDS (reversed)
It is all about cycles and therefore timing. When a cycle is manifesting its in-breath aspect, it is the time to set and focus our inner energies on specific intentions before a situation can evolve further. We must become comfortable with holding back and allowing matters to ‘deflate’ when the timing calls for this. To expect outer manifestation before a given situation has been properly energized with sufficient inner intent, is to be premature and out of harmony.
Harmonious Reflex to the Law:
4 OF CUPS (reversed)
Be sensitive to messages from the unseen world as new solutions to old problems are continually on offer—learn to reconsider all you reject out-of-hand. Break out of your discontent—withdraw and see what is RIGHT about a given matter and acknowledge the value inherent in periods of rest. Seemly INactive outer conditions are merely an expression of the return aspect of natural cosmic cycles. They are in fact, very active periods of the internal kind.

If U excuse me, I'm not sure how U will take this comment...But I think this law is a total LIE...God has fullfilled me and and completed me...the moment he set me on this earth... It is up to me what my gift, my life will be to him...But to say I am unfullfiled is such a down right lie...maybe u will never be fullfiled or completed...But Me...I am fullfiled and I continue to grow...love live and learn...so I guess my life is a testiment to god and not to your so called comic laws

Interesting.. un-fulfillment vs imperfection.. is one word better than the other in the task of defining this law? To me, it is. I don't like to quibble over words but I do feel there is a difference between the two, however subtle, which makes the former a more suitable choice than the latter.
Though the two words may generally be interchangeable, if we are to truly understand the INTENTION of the law in this particular instance, we find that the word 'un-fulfillment' actually describes FEELINGS of dissatisfaction. I noticed that you immediately understood the implication because your comment strongly DENIES any feelings of lack. You imply that through the grace of God YOU are perfectly satisfied and feel no such thing--that this lack is strictly MY own, and further, that the law does not apply to you. This is fine as far as our natural state of divinity goes, however, these laws are meant to address the experiences of human beings and their living experiences within the phenomenal world, which is where most people find themselves and the experience they identify themselves with from day-to-day.
So while the word 'unfulfillment' easily zeros in to the heart of the FEELING of emptiness, the word 'imperfection' which merely denotes possible flaws, does not. You see, though we often say, "I am imperfect" we do not necessarily feel UNFULFILLED having said those words. Imperfection merely IMPLIES the possiblity of flaws being present, but does not usually lead us to connecting with our underlying feelings of dissatisfaction. Therefore, in my opinion, to prefer the word "imperfect" over "unfulfilled", in this instance, shows that we are remaining distant and removed from the existent feelings of emptiness that are present. As a result, we project our imperfections out onto others and see only others as lacking, not ourselves.
Ultimately, the word 'unfulfillment' is a MORE HONEST ADMISSION of our natural state of imperfection.

If I am grasping an important point here it is that the LAW is spiritual where Adler (quote) is psychological -- the Law indicates that acceptance of it eradicates an Evil, psychology merely indicates perpetual struggle, due to feelings of being too mentally inferior to handle that struggle. (??)
Demitra M. N. :
I find that the two perspectives don’t conflict but reflect how the two co-exist within us. Our inferior selves (the ego) continually and incessantly struggle to fill the Void we intuitively sense is always present, not understanding that our efforts will never cause the emptiness to “go away”. These struggles are the cause of all our suffering. The emptiness is a necessary, and most natural, EXPRESSION of our existence. It cannot be filled with material things and doings, it only need be accepted and surrendered to. And the irony of it all is that when we truly accept ‘Nothingness’ as a matter of course, we discover the REAL struggle we were engaged in all along was our own reluctance to actually step into the Emptiness and by doing so, FILL it finally in the only way it can be filled.. with our BEING there, wholly & completely! THAT's what was/is missing.
Reader's comment #3:
I tried filling my “void” with everything or numbing myself not to feel that feeling of emptiness. Sex, drugs, impulsive buying, and then God, Even in the fulfillment I enjoyed and the satisfaction of having God (in whatever word one wants to use, the Universe, Nature, Cosmic Awareness), there was always a wanting for more and more and more......this law makes so much sense there will always be that growing expansion or we will stagnate.
Reader's comment #4:
This law has been explored in Indian philosophy for generations. GOD creates by limiting the eternal and ever full nature that is GOD’s nature, Maya. What we call that self-limiting characteristic that GOD employs to manifest all the multiplicity of our Universes. The Universe(s) would not exist without Maya. So, as you say, the very sense of lack and unfullfillment is necessary for there to be a you and me and an it and a they. From Maya springs the limiting factors of space, time, ego and mind. From them is the progeny of senses and sense objects. It is from all that follows that create the drama and complexity of the pairs of opposites. Dark/light, good/bad, soft/hard ... from all that we derive the world we perceive. It is all part of the same whole. It is all both real and unreal, depending on your perspective (the little self that is limited by Maya, or the Big Self that is THAT which is being sought).
Reader's comment #5:
If one considers the ancient Book of Changes, or I Ching, this allows for the continuous flow of energy, and what each and every moment holds within it, as well as its inherent flaws that lead to the next movement of energy. It is when we can accept each moment for its divine uniqueness and realize the potential for any of the possible directions that could be taken following each moment that life becomes a wondrous journey upon which we can choose which currents to drift, which wave to catch, and when to take shelter in a quiet pool.
Reader's comment #6:
These explanations above are so rich and also very calming for me now. Thank you very much. I am a bit stuck, and I want to make some changes. Sometimes I become impatient. But from your words I pick up that this inactive moment I feel, with its uncomfortable feelings, is perhaps part of the movement. Something like: I need to visit this "stuck-ness" for a while; it's part of the process of movement towards new things. Active periods of the internal kind.
